• Section 8 renewals and restructuring
• HUD insured financing
• State funding and soft debt
• Tax exemptions

Experience:

Richard Goldthwait is the Founder of Housing Preservation Advisors, a real estate advisory firm focused on the preservation of affordable housing. Richard has been involved with the preservation and production of over 3,500 units of housing across the US.

Richard has spent over a decade in the affordable housing industry with experience across acquisitions, development, financing, and management of affordable housing.

Earlier in his career, Richard worked at Arbor Realty Trust, a nationwide lender specializing in affordable multifamily financing. He underwrote, structured and closed agency debt. In total, Richard was directly responsible for the financing of over 2,000 units across the US.

Prior to Arbor, Richard worked at Landmark Companies, a Miami-based development firm focused on affordable housing properties. He was involved with the financing and development of several tax-credit development projects.

• MS, Real Estate Development from Georgia Institute of Technology 
• BBA, Finance from the University of Miami
